Mousecatraz

I read this book before my first program, and I just finished it again before lending it to a friend.  While it is one of those “take this with a grain of salt” kinda books, I still think it should be on the must read list for any future CP.  It shares tales from former CP’s, ones most of us will here a billion times after we actually enter the walls of Vista Way for the first time.

The book is written by Wesley Jones, who did the program in 2003.  It talks a lot about different roles and also goes into the different classes for credit the program offers.  While it will never 100% prepare anyone who has never done the program before, but it can give you a little sneak peak into what might happen.

What other Disney books should I read?  I have been recommended “The Dark Side of Disney” as a fun read, but the B&N near my school sold out… imagine that?

My friend was just denied from the program.  I know this isn’t my personal experience, but it kinda is.  Chrome crashed on him when he was doing the web survey thing and when he called they told him that got enough answered and that he wasn’t what they were looking for.  Personally I think it is BS that he couldn’t finish it, because you really can’t get a good gauge of a person from half a test.  Plus, I wouldn’t get along with him if he wasn’t like me, which obviously is Disney material or I wouldn’t have been accepted.  I am fully going to make him apply for the spring, but I was looking forward to having on of my best friends there with me.

my night is kinda ruined now.

I GOT IN!!!

Ok, I know this is semi old news as I announced it on the FB group yesterday, but I got my Congrats e-mail from Disney welcoming me into the Fall Advantage program to work in attractions.  I haven’t paid anything yet as I haven’t got my tax return back yet (I feel like this is everyone’s issue.  y/y?) but I have until March 6th to do so.

Still no word on the PI, but I’m super happy with attractions.  I honestly though my interviewer didn’t like me because the only part of the conversation she seemed interested in was my theater background and the fact I wanted Jungle Cruise or Great Movie Ride.  Yes I know everyone and their mother wants to work Jungle Cruise but shhhhh…. this is my blog.  lol

I want to know about the PI’s so badly now.  I’ve kinda made the pre-decision that depending on the PI I get, I might turn it down and reapply after my CP.  According to the dashboard my number 1 choice is already listed as “No longer in consideration” and I don’t want to put myself through 6 plus months of something I only kind of want to do.

However that being said, it is still all up in the air.

I just had my phone interview for a CP, incase I don’t get my PI.  I’m an alumni with a clean record, and I still have a sick feeling in my tummy.  :(

I applied for a CP this morning

Backup plans!

COMPLETELY GOING CRAZY!

My status bar hasn’t moved since before my interview!  I don’t know if that is a bad sign or if it just because I applied REALLY early.

It’s a sad day for me, Disney wise….

According to the PI site I am no longer in consideration for the Creative Entertainment Production Assistant internship.  It was the internship I was most excited about and my number one choice hands down.  I wish there was an e-mail address or a phone number I could call, just someone I could contact and ask what I didn’t have they were looking for.

I am thrilled I am still on the site with the little arrow stuck at “Interview Process”  I have never wanted something more in my life then I want a PI.  I have worked the last three years for this.  I just need to keep my fingers crossed and stay sane in the knowledge that everything will work out the way it is suppose to.

This video is completely relevant to life right now.  This is from 2009 and made by a very funny man named John who was on the same program I was.  I can’t think of a better way to explain the thoughts in my head while waiting for an answer.

I think I’m going to freak out now

I just had my phone interview.   I feel like it went really well.  The lady was really nice and we laughed a lot so I feel like that is a good sign.  I want this soooooo bad I don’t know what to do with myself.  It’s going to be worse then waiting for the stupid purple folder!

The only thing I think I kinda flubbed up was the Guest Relations questions, but that (even though it is in my top three) isn’t completely what I want.  It would be nice and so much fun, but I would rather the entertainment related ones anyday

I just put in my 3rd application for an Entertainment related PI.  This is the one that I actually really kinda want and even went to career services to get help with a cover letter.  I don’t know if that will be included in my phone interview or not.
